We were honoured to be invited to attend the LD Beauty Media Event this past week in Vancouver. (Thank you so much Cynnamon from Hartley PR. You are amazing!) What an event it was… Wow! We’ve been to numerous Beauty Events in the past but this one was exceptionally stunning. It was hosted at YVR at the London Aviation Centre and was complete with a light up bar, h’or deurves, a live dj, expensive luxury cars and 23 vendors previewing their newest products and Fall launches.
Revlon’s display of their newest products ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel and ColorStay Moisture Stain lip glosses.
The 2 step Gel Envy nail polishes are just like getting your nails done at the salon but at a fraction of the cost!
We’ve always been big fans of Revlon polishes (Cherries In The Snow has been a fave for years), but we have to say that these new polishes really are amazing. I tried the ColorStay Gel Envy polish in the colour Hot Hand, a gorgeous bright pink. The long lasting gel top coat makes your nails look super shiny and gives them that shellac-like appearance.
Revlon Makeup Artist, Jacquie Hutchinson is applying some beautiful pink Colorstay Moisture Stain lipgloss called LA Exclusive on my lips. This lipgloss has a light non-sticky texture, amazing colour pigment and is long lasting. It didn’t dry out my lips or fade and maintained its glossiness without reapplying for the whole evening. We absolutely loved meeting the Revlon team and getting our makeup touched up by the fabulous Jacquie Hutchinson.
NYX is a brand that is from Los Angeles and we have to say it rocks! It is one of the fastest growing makeup lines in the US as well as worldwide and for good reason.
Founder and Chairwoman Toni K created this quality makeup line so women could afford to purchase numerous pieces and not feel guilty! Their products have excellent colour pigment, amazing quality and great prices. She definitely accomplished that. Such a fun line!
The purple and blue tubes of mascara pictured above, called Color Mascara are very popular items. The colour of the package is true to the colour in the actual tube. Very pigmented.
Sneak Peek: These new NYX blushes are very pigmented and the colours are so pretty! Can’t wait to try these babies out.
Sarah Heng Hartse (pictured above) is an incredible caricature sketch artist and was located at the RoC skincare station. When we chatted with the RoC Trainer/Skincare Specialist/Makeup Artist Extraordinaire, Kirk Brierley, he explained they wanted to do something different… Something exciting and memorable for the RoC station.
You could have your picture sketched by Sarah in literally under 5 minutes compliments of RoC Skincare. They even put it in a frame for you!
This is the sketch Sarah did of Natasha and I.
I sat in the chair first, then Natasha sat for her portrait. Five minutes each and voila! Our sketch was complete! Isn’t that fantastic?! Talk about talented. RoC Skincare wanted to be remembered and to stand out in everyone’s mind that evening… they certainly accomplished that! A big thank you to RoC and to Sarah for the amazing memory.
Fancy Lychee Martinis and expensive cars? Yesss, please!
Natasha got her hair curled for a demonstration at the got2b hair products station. The hairstylist used a straightening iron to curl her hair and used got2b‘s Rise ‘n Shine Luminous Lift Hairspray. The hairspray has quickly became our new favourite. It gives your hair tons of body, adds shine anddd it smells AMAZING. Love this product!
At the Sally Hansen Nail Station Natasha was treated to a manicure with Professional Esthetician, Kathy. (A big thank you to Kathy! You’re awesome!!) She applied Sally Hansen’s new OMGel nail polish line that will be launching in August 2014. This 2 step polish system gives you gel-like nails without any LED lamps! It is sure to be a huge success.
Five days later, Natasha is still wearing the Sally Hansen polish that was applied at the event! It has held up beautifully and still looks great. Definitely a must-have for all polish addicts.
Natasha was delighted to see that Essie had a station. She is just a tad (okay.. a lot) obsessed with their nail polishes! They were offering manicures with their latest, hottest colours.
Cargo Cosmetics was featuring their latest products including some new additions to their much-talked about Swimmables Collection and their newly released Cargo_HD Picture Perfect Mascara. The mascara has a high-tech brush which features innovative fibres in a curved shape to help increase volume and length. We can’t wait to try it out.
Laura with Cargo Makeup Artist, Mary.
Mary demonstrated Cargo’s Swimmables Water Resistant Blush for us.
These gorgeous blushes are sweatproof and weatherproof made with silicone to adhere to the skin and withstand water. Not only are they weatherproof, they are also very pigmented and come in the most beautiful colours. They were used in the popular Dancing With The Stars TV show proving that they are a very resistant blush.
International Makeup Artist David Vincent doing makeovers at the Lise Watier Cosmetics station.
We are so, so excited about Lise Watier’s Fall 2014 Collection ‘Feline‘. The products are insanely beautiful.
Stay tuned for our full review on their Fall line!
