GIVEAWAY: Dr Roebuck’s Bubs & Bits

We are super excited to be having our very first Rose & Lea Giveaway! (See details to enter at the bottom of this post!)
Dr Roebuck’s has generously sent us a jar of their top selling cream, Bubs & Bits. They also sent one to share with one of our lovely readers. We have been wanting to try this cream since we’ve heard so much about it. It has been described as a ‘miracle in a jar‘.

Bubs & Bits is a moisturizer specially made for the most sensitive areas on the body.
It is so gentle, nourishing and pure that it can be used for a variety of uses – as a diaper rash solution (it is completely safe to use on your baby), post bikini wax repair (prevents ingrown hairs), and on anyone who suffers from dry skin, dry patches or problem skin areas. Perfect as a repair cream for cracked hands, heals, elbows. It may also be used for day to day moisturizing which is what Natasha uses it for when her skin needs a little extra hydrating on those cold winter days.

This product is the ultimate moisturizer with only 8 simple ingredients including lavender oil which creates a natural barrier enabling the skin to heal. Dr Roebuck’s has said it’s a cream that you should always have on hand, you know, for those Bubs & Bits parts of your body!

Dr Roebuck’s is a 100% natural skincare line from Australia. Their products contain no unnecessary harsh chemicals, no synthetic fragrance or colours and their products and packaging are all BPA & Paraben free. We have been using their products for the past 5 months and we love them. You can read about some of our favourite Dr. Roebuck’s products here.

IMG_033bbGatsbyMay we introduce the latest edition to our family, Gatsby aka Mr. Gatsby. We adopted this distinguished 8 month old little guy a couple of weeks ago.

We are ‘dog‘ people and have never owned a cat before. So needless to say we have all been going through an adjustment period. Including Mr. Gatsby. He’s been getting used to us and living in his new home and we’ve been getting used to him and his odd-like cat behavior. Cats are a little… different, aren’t they?
Everyday that goes by we all bond a little more and he gives us just a bit more trust. When Natasha was trying to take photos for this post he was a persistent little rascal. He insisted on investigating the whole photo process and was infatuated by the pretty fresh flowers. Natasha snapped this photo of him smelling the flowers right before he could resist no longer and took a huge chomp out of the petals. Trouble maker. But we still think this darn cat is adorable!

Dr Roebuck’s Skincare

Today we are talkin’ about skincare. I have been a makeup artist and in the cosmetic and skincare industry for the past 12 years. I have been trained and have personally used numerous skincare brands. So I kinda have some experience and shall I say, some ‘expertise’ in this particular area. 😉

We were invited to meet the co-founder, Zoe of the Australian natural skincare line, Dr Roebuck’s. We were beyond excited to meet Zoe in person and learn about this new skincare brand! Let’s face it, there are so many skincare brands in the market place and it can get overwhelming knowing what to choose. However, there are not that many natural skincare brands and that’s what peaked our interest even more.

Dr Roebuck’s is a family business originally created over 30 years ago by 2 physicians in Australia. It has now been brought to the market by their twin daughters, Zoe and Kim. Originally created out of a necessity for their daughters sensitive skin and eventual word of mouth popularity, the twins decided to share their family secret with the world!

We wanted to actually use Dr Roebuck’s for at least a month before posting any sort of testimonial. Being a mother and daughter, we are obviously in different age brackets so we were curious as to what each others findings and opinions would be.

IMG_8712gThis line is 100% natural and has no chemicals, parabens or fillers and is safe for even sensitive skin types and all ages. Babies included! The Dr Roebuck’s line currently consists of 8 products, all of which are made and packaged in Australia.

Dr Roebuck’s Products Available:

PURE (moisturizer), FACE (anti-ageing) TONE (toner), POLISH (exfoliator), LIPS, PURE BODY (body moisturizer), BUBS & BITS, BODY & HANDWASH.

IMG_8724bbbPOLISH ($39.95/50ml) is my absolute favourite product right now!  It is a 2 in 1 facial scrub and mask. After washing I apply it on a damp face, let it form a mask for 3-6 minutes then gently massage and rinse. It exfoliates and deep cleans your skin with Kanolin, Jojoba Beads, Grapefruit and Peppermint Oil then hydrates and tightens with White Tea extracts and Macadamia Oil. I love how my skin feels completely cleansed, soft and hydrated after using! I noticed a big difference in the way my skin felt and the way it absorbed the moisturizer as compared to the nights I didn’t use it.
I typically will use it every 2nd or 3rd night.

All of their packaging is recyclable and BPA free. We thought the packaging was totally original and different. It coincides with their company philosophy of being all-natural and the packaging reflects that.

The ‘Prescribed By’ signature on each box is actually their father’s signature. Replicating what he would sign on his patient’s prescriptions. We absolutely love the little personal details that went into the packaging!

TONE ($29.95/180ml) is… you guessed it, their toner! It soothes, brightens and tightens your skin. It contains Aloe Vera, Grapefruit and Peppermint Oil and we loved the smell of it and how it made our skin feel so silky smooth.

Natasha: I have combination skin and still get the occasional breakouts. Finding the perfect skincare products has been quite difficult before as most moisturizers and cleansers are too harsh and make my skin even drier. I have to say, Dr Roebuck’s TONE is a lifesaver. After applying it for only 3 nights straight, I saw a noticeable difference in my skin. I apply it at night (followed by PURE) and any bumps or redness I did have almost completely disappeared. My mom even noticed the difference, especially near my temples where I’m prone to breakouts. I’ve been using Dr Roebuck’s Polish, Toner & Pure for about a month now and have noticed a huge change in my skin. It’s completely moisturized and I’m happy to say that I’ve been completely break-out free for a month now. No little bumps or redness!

PURE ($54.95/100ml) is the original Dr Roebuck’s formula that was founded 30 years ago. It’s hypoallergenic, fragrance free and safe for even the most sensitive skin types. This moisturizer can be used day and/or night.

Natasha: PURE has a rich and creamy texture. It is recommended to apply the cream quite liberally. There will be a white layer still on your skin after application but your skin will absorb it in minutes.
Since this cream is so rich, I like to use it as a night cream. When I wake up in the morning, my skin feels extremely hydrated and super soft to the touch. It’s my new favourite.

FACE ($59.95/100ml) is the anti-ageing cream. It contains Rosehip Oil, Macadamia Oil & Vitamin E which work together to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. This cream has a lighter texture compared to the PURE. We both preferred it for our daytime moisturizer, although it can also be worn day/night.
