(Caution: seriously catchy tunes ahead.)
I first heard this song about a month ago on Indie Shuffle and literally haven’t stopped listening to it since.
Windmills (Cory Myraas) is a one-man band/loop artist based out of Kelowna, BC.
His music is a genre-bending mix of experimental pop/ambient-indie layered with killer vocals and dreamy, mysterious undertones.
Windmills has released 2 records since beginning in 2011 – ‘Keep Moving’ (released in 2012) and a 5 track EP titled, ‘Tilting’ (2013). Face To A Name is his latest single and is the first of 2 new songs that Windmills will be releasing this Summer!
Myraas’ clever lyrics really stand out and to me, his songwriting is very much reminiscent of one of my all-time favourite artists’, the great Jeff Buckley. Both have that rare, unique ability of writing incredibly poetic lyrics.
Face To A Name is a super catchy pop song that I guarantee will be on repeat all Summer long. Head on over to Windmills’Official Site to listen and download the full tracks.

‘And she thinks she knows me, but she hasn’t got a clue.
Cause the lies I told her, are the same that I told you.’ – The Great Divide by Windmills.
Album Highlights: Scream (Funk My Life Up), Let Me Down Easy, Numpty, Better Man, Iron Sky & Someone Like You.
After a 5 year hiatus, Paolo Nutini is back and better than ever with a brand new album. His third studio album ‘Caustic Love‘ was just released on April 11, 2014 and is already well on its way to becoming the fastest selling album of 2014 so far.
The 27-year-old Scottish singer was the biggest selling male artist in the UK in 2009 & 2010. His debut album ‘These Streets’ sold over 2 million copies worldwide and produced mega hits such as ‘Last Request’ & ‘Jenny Don’t Be Hasty’. His second studio album ‘Sunny Side Up‘ was released in 2009, debuted at No. 1 and is now certified 5x platinum.
Caustic Love is my favourite album of his yet. Nutini’s new songs are more soulful, bluesy & mature than his previous releases and his stellar songwriting really shines on this album. Tracks ‘Scream (Funk My Life Up)’, and ‘Fashion’ are faster groove-filled songs that will make you want to move while ballads ‘Better Man’, ‘One Day’ & ‘Iron Sky’ are beautifully written and really focus on Paolo’s sultry, textured vocals. ‘Let Me Down Easy’ features Janelle Monae and is a clear standout track that is full of soul and emotion. ‘Numpty’ is another standout track with its hip-swaying melody and cute, cheeky lyrics – I guarantee you won’t be able to listen to ‘Numpty’ without grinning.

Dream Lake is an indie dreampop duo from Sweden comprised of musicians Isabella Svärdstam (vocals, piano) and Niklas Willar Lidholm (guitar, vocals). Their six-track self titled EP was released on December 9th, 2013.
Dream Lake’s music is literally that: Dream-like – complete with melancholic melodies, gorgeous synths & soft ethereal vocals. All six tracks on their EP are strong and mesh wonderfully. Dream Lake is definitely a band to watch for.
At only 23 years old, Tom Odell is well on his way to becoming a huge star. With a #1 album in the UK and a soldout headlining tour already under his belt, he is bound to be known worldwide & topping the charts in no time.
Odell was born in Chichester, West Sussex, England and began writing songs at the age of 13. In 2012, he was discovered by singer/songwriter Lily Allen who signed Tom to her record label ‘In the Name Of’. Lily has compared Tom’s energy on stage to that of the great David Bowie and his music has also been compared to the likes of great artists such as Jeff Buckley & Coldplay. Tom cites Elton John as one of his biggest musical influences.
In 2013, Tom became the first male ever to receive a BRIT’s Critic’s Choice Award (previous winners include Ellie Goulding, Adele and Florence and the Machine) and he was even handpicked to open up for Billy Joel on select dates in January 2014.
His debut album titled ‘Long Way Down’ was released on June 24th, 2013 to much critical acclaim.
Tom is currently on tour in the US and will be performing at the hugely popular Coachella Festival on April 11th & 18th.
